OSHA October News 2020
OSHA News for October
2020
Hello,
October was nonstop
teaching. I can teach with a surgical mask to the socially distance class.
Bigger companies are having the other people tune in via Teams or Zoom from
across the country.
One of my clients
reached a year without an OSHA recordable. They have since tripled the
workforce in 6 years. They are now are one of IL 50 largest private companies.
6 years ago, 36.8% of the employees were hurt. The key is training, audits, and
implementing Lean 5s.
Litigation is
moving forward as courtrooms are allowing ZOOM for trial testimony. Falls are a
constant source of the litigation subject. Failure to conduct a daily
inspection by a competent person is a common theme.
This month’s
powerpoint is Industry Forklift and Material Handling. Although the industry is
seeing lower injuries, it can be better.
Registration is
Open for 145-Hour Safety Administrator Certificate Course. This is one of the best preparation classes
for the CHST. Dozens have passed the CHST on the first try after completion. You
will earn many certificates along the way. It starts December 8 – May 13 on
Tuesday and Thursday via ZOOM. Classes are 6-9pm. Several
instructors including myself will be teaching.

warm gloves. See you next month.
