OSHA News for March 2023 Hello, Another busy month of training on weekends and night. I am over 1000 people trained in three months. I will be speaking at the ASSP Three Rivers Chapter meeting on training techniques. https://threerivers.assp.org/events/safety-training-tips/ It was good to see people at the Chicagoland Construction Safety Conference. It looks like a good year for construction work and many have full schedules for the summer and fall. I am like the tool box talks with a mini quiz at the end. It is much better than signing the tool box talk. I keep seeing company use the online training for forklift despite the standard requiring a demonstration of proficiency. Several of these scam sites say they are OSHA compliant. 1910.178(l)(2)(ii) Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace.
